I probably laughed out loud more at this episode more than any episode of season 8 (which says a lot looking back at some of those gems) but I think that the problem I have with that episode today is that it was one of the first episodes where the show writers left nothing sacred.

It also was kinda a turning point for the show in that the writers could write an "out there" episode where all kinds of zany stuff happens, paving the road for even zanier episodes as pretty much all of season 11 and 12 for that matter.

I like this episode and most of the ones from season 9 (especially the handgun episode), but once the show starts going crazy with plotlines it is hard to come back to reality.

When the episode first aired, everyone on the newsgroup hated it. I remember, it was the worst episode of the season and I didn't get it.

It's good to see that the people who love The Simpsons have taken over the newsgroup, finally.

I loved it the first time I saw it and it remains on my favorite eps list.
