since probably everything that has been said has been said about this episode, I am just giving my review of the ep. I was outta town all last week so was unable to write the review. I have not read anyone else's review yet, so this may cover some of the same material of other folk.
REVIEW: Well, there is not too much good to say about this episode. The beginning seemed like so many bad season 11-12 episodes that had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the episode, there was a gratuitous guest appearance of guests playing themselves for no reason really. (I can believe Aerosmith hanging out/playing in Moes Tavern after the Flaming Moe was so popular but why again would REM appear at Homer's just because it was a benefit?) The thing that I notice mainly about these episodes is they are kinda like Family Guy episodes. Sure they are kinda fun to watch the first time but if you watch them twice in a row you will feel like you just wasted 30 minutes because there is nothing new to see. With the attention span of only about 4 minutes, the Simpsons maybe should consider giving up the whole one event kinda leading into another and just do little vignettes for the rest of the show's profitable run. I mean, dirt digging to moe school to posh bar to homer bar to homer hunting in one episode. They really dont think much of us, do they? Grade: C-
NOTE TO FOX: if you are going to keep on with your little football thing, then move the Sunday night cartoons... I suggest back to Thursday night. December before a new Futurama episode will air. Missing King of the Hill for a football game in progress that no one in Atlanta cares about anyway is not a way to live. It just shows Fox does not give a damn about their own programming as much as they care about not pulling another Heidi.
