On the street in your mind: lost Simpsons memory

This has been bothering me for a while now. Does anyone remember in December of last year (2004) when they had the Simpsons on a special night...I think it was a Friday? I remember in the commercial they showed Homer as a child on a boat looking through a spyglass at a girl...does anyone else remember this, or has beer obliterated my memory?

Both. There was a flashback episode where Homer described going to summer camp as a boy and meeting a girl at a girls' camp and kissing her. It turned out she was MARGE!

The spyglass part was either part of the ad that was cut out of the show. Or, because he was wearing an eyepatch during part of the episode, you have been drinking too much beer. The boat, skippered by McCallister, took Homer across the lake to the girls' camp.

In the end Homer was unable to return to see Marge because he had some accident and was knocked out and wound up in a different boys' camp, one for fat people, which he wasn't yet, and he couldn't get away.

Campers at Homer's camp: Lenny, Carl, Moe (actually an abandoned child who lived at the camp). Campers at Marge's camp: Marge, Selma, Patty, Cookie Kwan, future Mrs. Van Houten, future Mrs. Lovejoy. Campers at Fat Camp: Quimby, CBG, Wiggum.

Homer used an alias during this episode. To impress Marge. Elvis Abdul-Jabbar Jagger, or something like that.

McCallister was featured prominently in the episode, and he said lots of words that allowed him to use his exaggerated "ARRRR". ProjectARRRR, movies rated ARRRRR, etc.

Thanks, that had been bothering me for a while. So I assume this is from "The Way We Weren't," from season 15, and episode I missed. That explains a lot...
