It's getting to where I see no point in watching new episodes of the Simpsons, it's all so dissapointing. I was really looking forward to Jerry Lewis's appearance, that could have been comedy gold, when is Professor Frank ever unfunny? That might have been the last nail in the coffin. I'll probably only watch the upcoming British episode, if they succeed there, I'll keep watching. What do you guys think? Is the show dead? Should they have cancelled it four years ago? Or is this just a slump that they can get out of?

Well, in all fairness, these "new" episodes so far this season were actually produced as part of season 14, but held back until the fall. I think we see the first episode of the new production run in a couple of weeks. I agree that the last few weeks have not been stellar. But I've come to accept over the past few years that the show is uneven, and we sometimes have to go through a few weeks of mediocrity to get to a decent episode.
For me, I'm actually at the point where I don't care if I see the new ones or not. I was home for the THOH episode, yet when I went out for last week's show I didn't even bother to tape it.
What was once must-see, can't-miss TV for me is now "eh, I'll catch it eventually TV."

Of course not, not if it's still making money that would be crazy. To cancel because you feel uncomfortable with the current episodes? That's just silly.
