It's the beginning of the season and there are so few posts. I guess lower viewership combined with the rise of nohomers are the main reasons.

In the latest set of DVD commentaries nohomers got a namecheck, but nothing for a.t.s.

End of an era.

I've heard of jet-lag, but that's ridiculous.

I doubt if The Simpsons has even started in New Zealand...

OK, I kid, but am I right in thinking The Simpsons have never 'been' to NZ? Seems strange when you think about it - boiling mud pools, flightless birds, big scary guys with tattoos, funny accents - it's all such rich pickings for a clever script writer.

Paul (who came from there originally)

Not that I can think of... the closest would be when Homer became a missionary "save me Jebus", what with all the toad licking, et al. Well, it felt like a South Pacific island situation to me anyway.

Not our fault!

Jeus (who considered moving there next year, but has decided on Tasmania instead).

You mean as in Australia vs New Zealand? Yeah, there is a lot of tongue-in-cheek humour there in both directions. We make sheep jokes about the Kiwis, they bang on about how bad our rugby teams are. A bit like the English against the Welsh (or Irish), but without the violence...

Jet lag my ass. They have to redo all the scenes where water is flowing so that the vorticity is rotating in the opposite direction.

There's this thing called the Internet, and you can download any episode with hours of it airing... Try it sometime Capt'n.

You're joking, hopefully.

When are you going to break the record? Should be this month I suppose. I hereby petition you that your record breaking post be directed to me, since many of your "filler" posts reference me or insult me in some way.

XINO

You should be proud of your contributions. Without your help, it would have taken him two or three months longer than normal. And he would have spent too much time milking the misspellings of others.

Crap, I spent 6 years climbing to the top of the posting heap here, and now this ng is passe?

I defined myself as a posting maniac, and in the absence of a repressive milieu my societal nature's been co-opted.

Dr. H: You have twenty-four hours to live.
   Homer: Twenty-four hours!
Dr. H: Well, twenty-two. I'm sorry I kept you waiting so long.

Homer embraces Marge.

Well, if there's one consolation, it's that you will feel no pain
at all
until some time tomorrow evening, when your heart suddenly
explodes.

Dr. H: Now, a little death anxiety is normal. You can expect to go
through
five stages. The first is denial.
Homer: No way! Because I'm not dying! [hugs Marge]
Dr. H: The second is anger.
Homer: Why you little! [steps towards Dr. H]
Dr. H: After that comes fear.
Homer: What's after fear? What's after fear? [cringes]
   Dr. H: Bargaining.
Homer: Doc, you gotta get me out of this! I'll make it worth your
while!
   Dr. H: Finally, acceptance.
Homer: Well, we all gotta go sometime.
Dr. H: Mr. Simpson, your progress astounds me.
