Maybe they were attempting a parody of Rex Harrison's "rhythmic talking" and didn't quite get it right.

I'm trying to remember how closely they stuck to the original melodies when doing parodies back in the "classic" days. For instance, did "The Sounds of Grampa" in "Lady Bouvier's Lover" use Paul Simon's actual tune, or was it a Clausen or Jeff Martin composition that was "reminiscent"?

Eh, I rather liked it (a lot more than the "Large Marge" song, where the lyrics felt like a total retread of "We Put the Spring in Springfield"). I'm a sucker for any chance to hear Kelsey sing, I guess. I was hoping we'd get to see Bob doing 'Man of La Mancha' at the end of the episode.

I'm almost certain it wasn't the actual tune. Neither were the Shary Bobbins songs, although they were awfully close.
