The demon that is football runs over, and due to the ridiculous amount of people that watch it, it's allowed to pre-empt actual entertainment.

WTF? I unfortunately had to set my VCR to tape the show because of a friend's party (well, it's nice to go to a party and all).
But when I got home, I found the last 10 minutes of the show NOT TAPED.
