The latest seasons

I wonder why the last seasons have been so... bad is not the word i'm looking for... so "slapstick". I mean, the characters are so caricatured now that they all have become one-dimensional. Nothing like the golden seasons (5 thru 8). They should really do something about this, or the show will get repetative and loose its viewers. Actually, the show in its present form should be called "The Whacky Adventures of The Simpsons", because that's more or less what it has become. They go on a trip somewhere and do the same old things.

I agree with you on everything. It's like the creators are doing a half-assed job on purpose. But that is the American way (had to throw in an OFF reference). I'd have to say the biggest example of this would be the lack of "scary" nicknames on the recent Treehouse of Horrors episodes. Ah well, I'll take what I can get and wait for the other DVDs to come out. BONJOUURRR! you cheese-eating surrender monkeys,

I suspect it doesn't. The late game on Fox usually finished by 7:30EST, which gives viewers a half an hour to find something else to watch. It's not like football is a direct lead-in for "The Simpsons." In fact, on the West Coast the late game is over quite a while before "The Simpsons" is on, isn't it? There would be less of a ratings boost (if any) out there.

The late game is usually done by 4:30 or 4:45 on the west coast. I live in LA and we get a "Fox 11 Overtime" highlight show for a few minutes, and then the station returns to regular programming by 5:00 or 5:15. So there's still a lot of time before the primetime stuff starts at 7:00.
