Campaign to save episodes

In light of recent episode pullings due to September 11, do you think that these episodes could get remade in future seasons, or at least edit some scenes? I think it would be a waste to see the New York episode and now the Boy Band episode to go.

It could be done without problem. Perhaps we should start a "Save the Episodes" campaign so that all the jokes can be saved or maybe modified so that they can be viewed without sensitivity issues.

For this campaign to work, we need to collect donations for the production staff and let them know that we want them to put it towards the rearranging of the episodes. Also, write to the shows' sponsers and tell them to increase their advertising dollars to the Simpsons so they can perform the task.

Of course, don't get me wrong about what I am saying, I am upset about the terrorist attack like everyone. Perhaps this campaign should wait until donations to the Red Cross and such lower to a moderate level. But still, good episodes can't be wasted.

No one ever said the New York episode will NEVER be shown again. Most people seem confident that it will be put back into syndication some point. And I think a lot of people don't consider New Kids on the Blech to be a big loss really ;)

It has NOT been taken off the air. It was shown at 10:30PM on Fox Chicago just two weeks ago.

In the ending, Lt. Smash blows up the MAD Magazine building, which is in New York. Without saying too much, the idea of it is quite close to the fact that buildings went down in New York. The episode was pulled over the belief that it would bring back bad memories time and time again.

Look as much as I hate that the New York episode was taken off the air, I can kind of understand their reasoning. But the idea that any show that has a building being blown up (New York or not) should be taken off the air is simply ridiculous. It's not like the WTC is the only building that's ever been blown up or collapsed.

Besides they apparently didn't remove the New Kids episode because a couple of people said it was shown in Chicago recently.

So I guess Holocaust films should be pulled too?  What about films on the
Vietnam War?

Good idea, but it will never happen. I noticed at last nights concert for New York, they had no trouble showing the towers on the big screen....no one seemed offended.

What the HELL are you talking about??! The New York ep is a classic (Look! They're strapping down Liza Minelli!). Why should it be edited or remade at all?? If people are too"sensitive" to watch, let them watch something else (the 1976 KING KONG for example). I look forward to seeing that episode again --especially when that season is released on DVD!
