Do they air the uncut versions like Comedy Network does?

I just taped "Bart Sells His Soul" on Global and it came out to 22:00 with all the credits. SNPP says it lasts 21:14, so I guess Global aired it without the syndication cuts. I don't know if they always do that.

No, reruns that air on Global are the standard U-S syndicated episodes. CBC's reruns are also cut, but some of them were cut differently.

This from SNPP.com:

"The only broadcasters known to run episodes entirely uncut are CIII/CKMI (Saturday/Sunday 5:00 PM and 5:30 PM runs) and Teletoon (cable-only). "

Today is Sunday and the Global that I watch has the letters: CKMI.

So that means Global was supposed to show uncut episodes today. I taped four episodes and all of them come out to be approximately the same time that SNPP says:

Bart Sells his soul:       22:40  -  SNPP:  21:20
Treehouse of Horror VI:    22:16  -  SNPP:  21:16
Sunday, Cruddy Sunday:     22:24  -  SNPP:  20:25
Lisa the Greek:            21:14  -  SNPP:  20:54

I include all the credits and the entire opening theme. I think I saw the uncut versions today.

I worked at Global and know for a fact that the reruns they show on Saturdays and Sundays are completely uncut. Teletoon no longer airs the simpsons but the comedy network's episodes are uncut aswell.

CBC and CFMT show the episodes with cuts. CFMT (cable 4 in Toronto) cut even more than the standard syndicated cuts.

Thanks for the information. I know about Comedy Network, but for part of season two or three, they had the syndicated versions. I don't know why and when they air again, I hope they will fix that.

But for the last few months they have been airing the complete series uncut at one episode per night in order. I like that.

Do you know if Comedy Network will air The Simpsons again when they're done airing the entire series? They're in the middle of Season Seven now, so they won't finish the series until June at least.

Teletoon would do that. They would air all episodes in order (mostly) and when they were done, they started over with Season One.

We probably can't assume they'll air the entire series. Teletoon seemed to only have the first 7 or 8 seasons. I never checked, but that's my impression; each time around, they didn't seem to add anything new.

If you visit their website, http://www.thecomedynetwork.ca/ and go to press releases, you will see that during the week of February 17, they are planing to air "Specials on the road week". The list of the episodes they are planing to air includes "Kill The Alligator and Run" from Season Eleven. So we can assume that they will air all the episodes until the end of season 11. For season Twelve, I don't know. I hope they air it too, but we will only know when they get there, and with one episode per day, it will be a long time.

I emailed Comedy Network with this question and got a response. They said that for now there are no plans to re-broadcast the entire series but that they probably will.

They said "re-broadcast the entire series", so I guess it means that they are broadcasting the entire series now, which answers the other person's post.

If that's true, then "Lisa the Greek's" opening/ending only adds up to 20 seconds. BUT... "Lisa the Greek" was never cut; just time compressed--so no big loss for you there. You didn't miss any scenes. Otherwise, it does seem you're getting the uncut episodes.

I went back to my tape to check the times of the episodes without the opening theme and the end credits:

Lisa the Greek:           19:34

SNPP says 19:40 is the time of the time-compressed version for Lisa the Greek. Something is definately wrong with Lisa the Greek, I can't explain it. Why did they show the compressed version of Lisa the Greek (syndicated version) and the original version of the other three?

For the others, they're complete. The difference is too small to be a syndication cut and for Treehouse of Horror VI and Bart Sells his soul, I looked at the list of syndication cuts on SNPP and those lines are on my tape. Even if the cuts are different, why delete only 9 seconds when you can delete more of Bart sells his Soul?

Well, you're lucky, because I've had CFRE, CFSK, and CITV, and they all show cut episodes.
