Okay ... This may be covered somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. Why in the last episode of The Simpsons (Pranksta Rap), Kirk has an eye patch on. What happened?
I apologize for my ignorance, but I caught the episode from about five minutes in, and it's my first Simpsons in about three years.

He has a job as a scarecrow (the job undoubtedly to show us that he continues to be a loser). I can't remember whether we actually see a bird attack his eye or not, but that was certainly implied.
It's an interesting reference to the medicinal marijuana episode, where Marge sets up a scarecrow in the back to chase off crows, but one of the crows eventually attacks Homer's eye, the pain being so much that Dr. Hibberts prescribes marijuana.

If he was going to watch a Darren Hayes video, he would have been in the TV room and left to popcorn to explode on it's own.
