I never thought I would ever start a poll, but since it's nearing Halloween I thought maybe a THOH related poll would be fun.

So what is everyone's favorite THOH segment. Segment, not episode.

Mine is "Attack of the 50-Foot Eyesores" from THOH VI.

Mostly becauae of the scene where Lard Lad comes to the door:

Homer: [answering door] Hello? Yes? Oh.
        [sees that it's Lard Lad]
Heh heh. If you're looking for that big donut of yours, um...
Flanders has it. Just smash open his house.
[shut door; the sound of giant footsteps recedes]
He came to life. Good for him!
        [Smash! Crumble! Tinkle!]
[giant footsteps approach; the doorbell rings]
        [Homer opens the door]
Ned: [running away] Help me, Lord!
Homer: I told you! Flanders has it. Or Moe. Go kill Moe!
Marge: [arriving home in the car] Homer, just give him the donut! Once
he has it, that will be the end of all this horror.
Homer: Well...OK. If it'll end horror.

"The Shinning". Hands down the best movie parody ever done on the show.

Sorry--it has to be the Evil Krusty doll. It came with a terrible curse, but also a free *frogurt*

Second for me would be "The Shinning"

Yeah, I love the evil krusty doll too. The Shinning seems to be very popular. If enough people respond I'll actually count these up and come up with a list or something.

As always, this is a very tough decision. One segment that I have always loved is from THOH III, "Dial Z for Zombies":

Lisa: Dad, we did something very bad! Homer: [eating pork rinds, frowns] Did you wreck the car? Bart: Nooo! Homer: [frowns] Did you raise the dead? Lisa: Yesss! Homer: [more frowns] But the car's okay? Kids: Uh-huh. Homer: [relieved] All right then.

There are two other segments from that same "Dial Z...", the one where Willie is working in the flower-bed, and the ending sequence, which I also *love* to watch.

I have to vote for "Dial Z..." if only because of the Thriller album cover. Although, I have to admit that when I have yet to raise the dead with Thriller on my head. "The Shinning" and the monkey paw segments are close behind, and so is the evil Krusty doll....

"Marge! The doll's trying to kill me and the toaster's been laughin' at me!"

"Quality Shmality. If I had a TV show, I'd run that sucker in the ground."

Everyone's already mentioned most of my favorites, except for "Nightmare on Evergreen Terrace"

"Morir - to die... Morit - he, she, or it dies..."

"Moris - *you* die."

Other favorites include "time and punishment", "Nightmare cafeteria", and "citizen kang"

"Ever since I was a child, I dreamed of being a base-ball"

I love the monkey paw one where Homer orders a turkey sandwich:

Ok, ok, I'll make a wish that can't backfire. I wish for a turkey sandwich, on rye bread with lettuce and mayo and, AND, I don't want any zombie turkey, I don't wanna...turn into a turkey myself and I don't want any other wierd surprises, you got it?

A couple I really liked that no one has mentioned:

The one where Homer sells his soul for a doughnut, and he gets force fed doughnuts in hell: Munch, munch, munch, "MORE", munch, much, munch Fortunately, he is saved by Marge, with no help from Lionel Hutz

And I also like the one where Homer keeps going back in time to get the present correct. Loved Flanders as the friendly evil leader.

My personal fave is 'The Raven' episode.
