First off, this was a great episode. If you honkeys don't agree, you are either unholy swine or some species of slime-masticating rodent. Probably the former. The major source of its greatness was that it was (a) semi-plausible and (b) did not rely primarily on Homer acting stupid for its laffs. The played up the bit characters wonderfully. Ralph's pant-wetting moment was great, as was his idiotic tumbling down the hill. Lugash was great as well - he was in just long enough for laffs, but not so long that he got old, as massively overengineered characters are wont to do. Surely the honkeys agree? He had too great lines: "ees cat now" and "I am Lugash" [said in a totally inappropriate moment]. I must say though, the appraisal of college life was wholly inaccurate. I graduated last year and college is less a place to exchange new ideas and more a place to watch people get drunk and slack off. But still, though the gymnast thing was obviously contrived, it felt RIGHT. It was SMOOTH. I had no problems believing those gymnasts thought Lisa was a college student, and no problems believing that she pretended to be one. The only rough part of the episode was the end - that was a totally Un-Lisa-Like prank, and since when has Lisa had any "back" to "win"? I.e., since when has she had anything to lose - her peers don't like her anyway. But still, it worked great. The bubble, though contrived, was not so overdone that it got old. Willy's raking was great. The pants pissing was great. Lugash was great. There were a lot of moments I laughed out loud.
This really was a good episode. A GREAT episode. It earns a "check plus". After that last clip show I was ready to give up on the Simpsons. They were making FUN of how BAD they had gotten. But if this is the future of the Simpsons, sign me up for another 12 years.
