When Homer was trapped in the sauna by his attempted killer, I immediately got a sense of Deja Vu when they showed the close up of the wrench jammed into the door handle and pipe. Was this in an earlier episode?

Maybe the Inanimate Carbon Rod episode, where Homer goes into space and then a rod has to be used to hold the shuttle door closed?
Actually, the scene reminds me of one of the early James Bond films, maybe Thunderball?, where James Bond gets locked in a sauna (I think it was a small unit where your head sticks out).

Yes, it was in one of the James Bond movies with Connery, but in this case, it was Bond who murders one of the bad guys by steaming him alive in the box.
