I've just finished working on BARTING OVER (EABF05) for the episode guide. My tape is of the original first airing, and I've seen no other showings. This episode had a few "glitchy" moments, and I'm wondering (for my own edification) if they'd been fixed/altered in subsequent airings.
Here's the glitch list:
ACT II 1) In court, there's an audible punching sound as Homer attacks Judge Harm. I'm assuming it's the sound of the bailiff clobbering Homer. Next, there's a quick cut to Homer being dragged from the courtroom by the bailiff. No punch is ever seen, just heard. 2) As Bart is moving out, he looks up at his mom and again says, "I'm sorry . . ." and then something inaudible as his mouth keeps moving, just before he hops into the cab. ACT III 3) (minor one) In Bart's loft, after Homer asks if Bart will change his mind and move back in with his ma and him, there's a long pause where nothing happens--no sound, either. 4) When Marge screams at Bart's chest piercings, it sounds like Homer. It was funny, but was it intentional? 5) Just after Tony Hawk reveals the automatic skateboard, Homer says "Groovy," but his mouth keeps moving, as if there was a longer line of dialogue there.
