They want to hang out on the streets with their mates and do what they do. Unless it is on the internet they tend not to watch it. Late teens? I don't think so. If one was 17, that would mean you were 5 or so when you started watching the show. I think people my age (20) are the youngest that watched the simpsons in the early days, especially with the bad press it got because of Bart's behavior. Besides, I know lots of teenagers and they watch the show almost as religiously as I do. But, I don't think his work has slid any, he's just following the shitty scripts he's handed. I never critcized your opinion. That's your opinion. I just stated mine. I used to act like Bart, but he sure didn't influence me to do that, I was too smart to let tv influence my decisions. Why do I need to get out more because I'm 20 and watch the Simpsons? I also wrestle (real stuff, not the fake pro stuff) and have a very active social life. I do think the scripts for Homer have been bad. Do I have to be a programmer to criticize Microsoft's software? No, but I do have to be able to back it up. Tell me Homer being a jerk on purpose (Lisa:"Dad, I wanna go to bed" Homer:"I said squeeze those lemons!") isn't bad script writing and completely out of character. Homer does do bad stuff occasionally, but he's never been an ass like that before.
