I started posting wav files in the binaries group again....a BUNCH of them. Seems the regulars there have been too busy posting whole episodes to care about little old sound clips.
What do you guys think? I argue that the binaries group was dead for a while because no one was posting there. Used to be people used it for nothing but sounds. Once fox got on a rampage shutting websites down, the posts stopped (mine included). Not for fear, but out of disgust personally.
Now a bunch of people with high bandwidth connections have an attitude that its their newsgroup and it's for RAR files only..... Are we going to stand for this? NO!! log into the alt.binaries.tv.simpsons newsgroup and reply to my post. Let them know you WANT me on this wall. You NEED me on this wall. You want the truth? You can't handle the truth. It's Chinatown!

Flame already in session..... Time to get on my high horse and give you all some history.
I've been posting to this group and the discussion group for about 3 years now. I have a reputation for providing wav files. Before this binaries group became populated with whole episodes, it was nothing but wav files.
I had a website devoted to wav files, but it got shut down by Fox. I want to know where these "dozens of sites" are to download files. There used to be hundreds! My site hasn't had any files since August, but I still get about 1000 visitors a week from search engines. The sites with content are gone or underground. This is the next best place.
Don't think you are the only game in town!!!!!!!!!!
I will admit there are plenty of people looking for whole episodes and this is a good place to post them. I'm not knocking what you do at all. But you need to accept the fact that there are more people looking for small sound clips and can not download 75Mb at a time.
My few MB a day is not going to knock off your posts. For the most part, It's not the file count, it's the size. And I'm not going to compact them for just the same reason. The people who want one sound file are not going to want to download 5MB to get to one 75Kb file. Believe it or not, I know my audience.
I am trying to get this group repopulated with people who want OTHER than whole episodes.
