i know the cut off at the end of this show was deliberate, but anyone know the reasoning behind it?

My theory is because if you listen to the dialogue between Homer and Moe, they end off talking about how the wall fell on Moe's face. Moe was questioning why his face returned to his original and not some sort of new face, then it cuts off. IMHO they cut it off so they didn't have to explain why it didn't form into a new face. Well you know they wouldn't give Moe a permanent new face. Through the course of the show, no one has had any significant changes in their appearance. So of course Moe is gonna go back to his original face. And to cut it off like that makes it easier to not give an explaination.

Sometimes these missing explanations can by quite funny. There are obvious flops, like the surfing at the end of Grift of the Magi. But I always get a larf out of Mr. Burns' line in Monty Can't Buy Me Love (paraphrased off the top of my head for lack of episode capsule at snpp.com): Homer: I can't believe you caught the Loch Ness Monster single-handedly. CMBurns: Yeah, I thought it was all over when he swallowed me, but, well you know the rest.
