The 13th season of "Meet the Press" was horribly unfunny.
The one with Lady Bird Johnson was the worst episode ever.

But the one with AFL-CIO Chairman George Meany was a hoot.
Personally i think that the 1988 Meet the Press eps were the most innovative, though the 2000 season had its moments.
Saturday Night Live? Actually, if the quality starts slipping again like in season 10, ask this question again in a few years...the early 90s were gold for SNL.

"The Tonight Show"

I've seen several eras of the "Tonight" show, and it has NEVER been nearly as funny as "The Simpsons". Carson might have been amusing early on in his run (might have been -- I haven't seen any 1960s episodes), but by the 70s, his show was extremely lame, with corny monologues and a guest list right out of "Hollywood Squares".
What's funny is that Al Jean and Mike Reiss, who I think were the best "Simpsons" showrunners, used to write jokes for Carson in the 1980s.

Saturday Night Live.....However, it's 13th season (1987-88) was cut short by a strike, but there were many good shows on during that season. Also, how about The Price is Right? That show rules when you're at sick at home from school/work/whatever.

Jeopardy! and/or Wheel of Fortune. They never get old.

Wheel of Fortune jumped the shark when Vanna didn't even have to turn the letters anymore. Well actually, it jumped even earlier when they got rid of the part where the contestants would shop instead of just get money.
