Background noise in Dead Putting Society?

Short time lurker, 2nd time poster.

Ok, so here it is. I was recently watching Dead Putting Society on DVD and could have sworn that I heard some weird background noise.

I checked it on two DVD players. On the scene where the Flanders see the Simpsons at the golf course is where I hear it. Listen near the part where Todd putts at the gorilla (9:30 in the DVD). Right there I hear "Daddy, no I want to stay and play again." Now, that doesn't sound like it should be there. Or is it just me?

There's more, but It's harder to hear.

Yep, you're right some sort of background noise which shouldn't be there. Unless its supposed to be general background noise for the scene but it does sound like a recording of a small child babbling away to an adult. As you say too quiet to make any clear words out of it.

I haven't checked this out but that wouldn't be out of place as simply backround noise (ie for the scene.) It was possibly just bad mixing by the sound team.

Anyway, you aren't imagining things, but the noise isn't a goof. Homer and the Flanderseses aren't the only people at Sir Putt-A-Lot's Merrie Olde Fun Centre, and what you're hearing is the background noise of the other golfers talking. I can start hearing random laughter and things at 8:43, and it runs more or less continuously through 9:30, although the loundess varies.

This episode is more than 15 years old and I never noticed this before. There's always something new to see on "The Simpsons."

Another interesting example of this, although it's slightly OT, is in the Jimi Hendrix song Foxey Lady. If you listen through earphones you can hear him coughing a few times, and snorting (I'd imagine clearing his nose, rather than doing cooke, but you never know) that I had never heard through regular speakers.
