Thoughts on #321 - MARGE VS. SINGLES, SENIORS, CHILDLESS COUPLES AND TEENS AND GAYS

Review: This was pretty funny, even though the plot was, as usual, disjointed. The baby Woodstock was good for a lot of laughs. Did you notice how close Ruffi's voice is to Apu's? Amazing that Maggie had a better role than Homer for once. The Frank Nelson references were really good. I give it an A-.

Misc.

Frank Nelson (1911-1986) was an actor best known for playing an annoying man on "The Jack Benny Show," both on radio and TV. He would regularly play a salesclerk or waiter who would annoy Jack. He always opened his bit by saying "Yeeeeeeesss?!" He was once paid $750 for saying only that on a Jack Benny episode. He also made frequent appearances on "I Love Lucy."

An above-average episode, though Homer's attack ad could've been funnier. I give it a B+.

i liked it when the "puberty stricken kid"(i forget his name, or if he even has one) finally had his voice lowered, i wonder if it will stay lowered...

The Simpsons Universe, much like the Marvel Universe, throws continuity out the window constantly to better suit their writing needs, so I doubt it.

He did lotsa Hanna-Barbera cartoon voices too, often on "The Flintstones" - to me, he'll always be "the only caterer in town!" who screws up Pebbles' first birthday party and the Water Buffalo Lodge party.

I don't think Castellenata does his voice particularly accurately, strange because he does so many voices so well.
