Okay, we know the characters' voices are dubbed in overseas episodes, but what do they do when an original song is played, like say "Kicking It"? Do they actually redub the song, or just play the English-language version with subtitles at the bottom?

I was watching an episode that had been dubbed in French. When Homer started to sing " Uptown Girl" he sang it in English, with no subtitles. As a side note, during the Kids News segment where Bart is talking about about birds migrating to "Canada, some say Toronto", in French it was "Canada...Montreal".

In some cases, for example the monorail-song, the refrain "monoraaail" is still english, cause the german word for it ("Einschienenbahn") would probably be too long. The rest of the song is german.
