I was just watching Lisa the Treehugger and noticed that when Lisa climbs up the really big tree, she has a good view across a massive area. In the distance you can see the Statue of Liberty and the skyscrapers of New York. I dont come from USA and sont really know that much about it, but theres a few more landmarks in the foreground including a mountain range.

Anyone know what's going on here? Is this a clue as to where Springfield might be located ? (sorry guys!)

Uh, yeah, you can also see the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France too. I don't think you should read into it though...

Nobody really wants to know, but when the writers of the show hide it then viewers really want to know for some reason. (another example is Wilson's mouth in Home Improvement)

If you look at it again you'll notice the landmarks aren't in any order that could possibly occur. I think the Eiffel Tower is BEFORE the Statue of Liberty for instance in that shot.
