I'm not religious but i've always claimed that even the most non religious person would probably end up praying to god if they ever found themselves in a horrible situation. I suppose thats why i found it amusing that Homer should make that statement. I think "meh" and "save me jebus" are the two Simpsons related statements that come out of my mouth the most.
