A lot of recent episodes have been criticized for having stories that are promising but are executed or ended very poorly for the sake of silly gags. Common examples would be Saddleshore Galactica (the ending should have been a bit more realistic and tied to the subplot), Faith Off (Milhous being injured should have been emphasized in the 3rd act instead of focusing on the gory footnall game), New Kids on the Blecch (Lisa should have blown L.T. Smash's cover), A Milhouse Divided (Milhouse was hardly in the episode, which could have been through his point of view), Night of the Dolphin (the story should have ended with the dolphins rewarding Lisa for freeing their king).
What episodes do you people think should have been written differently? How would you change the plot, so it would be more interesting and dramatic? Hopefully, this thread will show the writers how to write decent stories like they used to. (If they were actually reading this message.)
