this has been bothering me...

in some of the opening sequences of the simpsons weird things happen. like lisa plays her saxaphone out of tune and(this is the first time ive seen this has happene) they dont say "the simpsons" when the clouds seperate at the very beggining...is there a reason for this, is it my local syndicate that screws the sound up or what?

Time. The intro's are cut so as to give Fox more time to sell advertising.

I believe this happens in the season 12 or 13 episodes. When Fox beamed them to local stations for syndication, they mistakenly sent a version without the voiceover, so pretty much all the stations have that problem for some of those episodes.
