       10/26

EMMY NEWS: A (heavily) edited Creative Arts Emmys will air on E! on Friday, September 19, at 6 PM. (Normally, these awards take over three hours, so in order to fit them into a two-hour slot, they get rid of the acceptance speeches and the reading of nominee names when there are multiple people involved for a single nomination.) Note that the awards themselves are Saturday, September 13, and the results posted that night at the Emmys site.

SEASON 15 NEWS: The "Entertainment Weekly" Fall TV preview reports that, in addition to most of the stuff already revealed about Season 15, one episode will include Bart competing in a "Robot Wars"-style show, with Homer having to be inside the robot.

A friend showed me an article in the 8/1/03 EW, in which the author stopped by the Simpsons offices for a little bit - there's a snippet that they were working on "the blueprints for an episode airing next year in which bully Nelson moves into the Simpson household after Marge grows motherly toward him. [then it's settled...a stranger stays at our house. yay!] ... today's pass is the first of two or three drafts to be completed before the cast is brought in..." it goes on in a little more detail (you can probably find it online - it's part of an article called One Week in Hollywood or something) - also are a few quotes from Matt Warburton, Al Jean, and Ian Maxtone-Graham, and picures of Mill Odenkirk, Michael Price, IM-G, and MW. Anyway, based on the date of the visit (7/14) and the subject, it doesn't really sound like any episodes pointed out so far...

Also, afterthought: Ian doesn't look at all like I imagined - I kind of had a mental picture of (I think this is the name) _Louis_ Maxtone-Graham, a character in the Seinfeld episode "The Summer of George."

And yet the montgomery burns award for outstanding achievement in the field of excellence continues to get the shaft by all 4 networks!
