it came on the same time the new episode came on I saw some of it then I watch the rest of it when the episode it was seein' them do the character voices in the interview

Anyhoo, What was the deal with the Appearance tonight? They didn't have Julie Kavner onscreen when she did any of her voices (always put the show up, moreso for her than the others,) then she dsiappeared halfway through?!?! For the record, she was also the only cast member who was not scheduled to show up in Montreal for the reading last July (As it turned out, Harry Shearer didn't show either). Any info on this?

I just watched this show on tape... (hey, couldn't miss the real thing Sunday night!) and I also noticed that Julie just disappeared.. and they didn't show her voicing her characters...

I've never watched this show before and this Lipton character is insufferable and annoying... very ripe for parody...

I've heard Julie Kavner doesn't like to do the voices in public, because she doesn't feel its a good outlet for her characters (I think because she feels that people will associate the voice with her rather then the characters). By that same token, I would guess she requested not to be actually seen doing the voices, as it would take away the mystique, so they put clips over it.

But isn't Bravo intended for people who "don't normally watch tv"? Hence, they wouldn't be watching the Simpsons in the first place. Instead, they'd much rather be watching important documentaries and such.

Of course, that doesn't explain why such people would be interested in a program about the Simpsons.

Here, here! I am watching it now and am so aggravated! I want to *see* the actors perform the voices, not watch all the old animated clips while they're performing. If the Bravo people really felt that their viewers needed a constant reminder of who these characters are, at least do a split-screen!

Adam, I'm with you. Go to www.bravotv.com and voice your complaint. I did. It may be in vain, but I asked if in future showings, they could lose the animation as the actors are speaking in character. Dan and Hank (I won't try to spell their last names) did seem nervous during the little bit we did see them. Harry Shearer seemed right in his element though..
