Homer's anti-gay reputation is entirely based on the episode "Homer's Phobia" which (while very funny) breaks continuity with the long-standing tradition of Homer as a naive, somewhat sexually ambiguous character. He is, as was mentioned, "curious" and "flattered" when he thought Burns was "coming on" to him. He notes with apparent lust that Ollie North was "just poured into that uniform"--hardly something a raging anti-gay bigot would say. When he sees Ned on the ski slopes wearing a skin-tight snow outfit he can't get the sight of Ned's "sexy" body out of his mind. When he misses Carnival due to being kidnapped Marge notes that its a shame, since the festival with its "ambiguous sexuality" was his kind of thing. There are probably several dozen similar examples I hadn't though of. Not that he is really gay, either. His constant drooling over women rules that out. Reminds me of the time when Bart wants to stay up past his bedtime on the grounds that "you can't have any fun in bed." Homer chuckles knowingly and says "when you're older, you'll know that isn't true" or something like that and then its a flashback of himself eating a giant sandwhich in bed!!! Though I would die laughing when I first saw that. Of course, they did run the concept into the ground after a while with him eating in the car alone at a lover's lane, etc., etc., yawn.

Its been I while since I've seen it, too; but as I remember it a.)While at the ski resort, Homer sees Ned from behind in extremely tight snow suit made of a very soft material. b.) Thinking it is a woman, he is very turned on. c.) To his horror, the figure turns and is revealed as Ned. Homer is shocked. d.) Ned greets Homer enthusiastically, brags about the suit and wiggles his ass to demonstrate how comfortable and flexible it (the suit) is. Homer is appaled and leaves. HOWEVER e.) Later on, Homer is trying to remember something (sorry, I forget what). We see his thoughts in a thought bubble as they are interrupted by an intrusive image of Ned wiggling his ass. Homer is annoyed by this and mutters "stupid sexy Flanders." For me this means that he is at least a little turned on by a man, but finds the feeling uncomfortable or is ashamed by it. Come to think of it, Ned comes across as a little gay for a man who won't eat foot longs or even the more phalic vegetables. "Repression of Evergreen Terrace" is the name of the game. At least they live next door to each other if they ever lose the hangups and denial. Marge won't suspect a thing....he-he-he.

IIRC (and i think I do), Ned skis up, with a revealing outfit on and a helmet that covers his face. Homer is frightened at first, but then Flanders reveals it's him. Homer says "Don't you think that's a little revealing?", and Ned tells Homer that it's aerodynamic and it feels like he's wearing "nothing at all", while shaking his butt. Then, as sking down a peak, Homer runs into trouble. He thinks "Calm down, just remember what the instructor told you." A thought bubble appears, and the ski instructor says "Remember, if you're ever in trouble, just" and then Ned cuts into the thought, saying "Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all, nothing at all, nothing at all!", and Homer yells "Stupid sexy Flanders!"

Homer has made tons of ambiguious statements concerning his sexuality. Just proof that Kinsey was right and most of the population is 'just curious' to one degree or another.

I belive that over the years the writers have poked at his hetrosexuality and used his homosexuality as an excuse to make a cheep joke.
