I've gotta say that this was the first real disappointment this season. While there was some inspired character writing between Homer and Marge, it still suffers from most of the same problems as all recent marital turmoil episodes, right down to the half-assed, solve-nothing ending. It had its fair share of lame gags as well, with Homer sticking his hand into the paper shredder standing out as the absolute worst. Still, there was some good, which saves it from being a contender for worst ever. Bart and Lisa trying to resolve the fight between their parents was a nice change from the normal formula (although it didn't convincingly resolve much at all), and there were some funny moments scattered throughout (SLH and Snowball II dancing, most of the jokes in the first act that didn't involve Homer and pain, Bart and Lisa running between the two houses). Also, the animation was notably good, with some nice subtle touches (look at Maggie during the episode and you'll see what I mean), but overall, it was still a modern day generic Homer/Marge conflict, which means that it was mediocre at best, with a 7.5/10. (C+)
Announcer: FOX Sunday, Bart and Lisa are trapped in a runaway RV! (Bart and Lisa are seen speeding in the mobile home down the freeway. Homer and Marge drive up next to them.) Marge: Pull over! Bart: Raise my allowance! Homer: Why you little... (Homer reaches out of his car window into the window of the RV, and strangles Bart between the two vehicles. The RV is then shown careening off a cliff.) Announcer: The Simpsons!
