Change in animation?

Last summer I heard something about a change in the way the Simpsons were animated this year. I haven't noticed any difference. Am I arglebargle or flooferal?

Well, hang on until late December/early January, when the EABF production series kicks in. That's apparently when they start doing digital ___ (reports vary, and even though Al Jean said it would be completely digital starting with those, interpretations don't always agree; some believe the drawing will still be done by hand, some don't)...but I believe that Send in the Clones (the first story in Treehouse of Horror XIII) was done digitally to some extent, so that's probably how the new ones will look. The only real consequence will be a lack of layering effects (shadows around characters because of the actual depth of the cels), smudges and dots, and probably a decrease in animation errors. (Compare, though, Tennis the Menace, which apparently was a digital coloring experiment that didn't turn out satisfactorily, and Radioactive Man, which I hear was also a try at computer animation...these should be better, I guess)
