I think it's a special episode at a special time, preceeding the film "Matrix" (I think). Though of course, in some eastern markets, it'll either be joined or pre-empted, due to football. After that, i think the baseball playoffs and World Series is coming up, so I don't think "The Simpsons" will be returning to its normal 8PM ET time slot until the new season begins 11/3.

If the World Series doesn't go seven games, there will probably be an 8:00 episode on October 27. There's a chance The Simpsons will air at 7:00 on October 13, as it's not a Fox NFL doubleheader day. (It's also possible that the west coast can get Simpsons episodes on October 6 and 20, which are Fox NFL doubleheader days, but almost always older Futurama episodes air in that situation.)
