In 'Milhouse Doesn't Live Here Anymore', a young Nadia Comaneci talks about "the mechanics of heterosexual sex" - what the heck was that about?

The 1970s TV personality she was talking to- was it Paul Lynde? was a closetted homosexual. His sexual innuendo which preceded the joke made so little sense her comment was, in effect, you have no idea of what goes where between men and women, ie "the mechanics of heterosexual sex." The joke was drop-dead funny and provided many guffaws at our house.
