The blackboard gag refers to a news article last week according the Simpsons. According to it, Matt Groening supposedly announced that its been hard to come up fresh new story ideas for the show and that next season will be the final season of the shows. A couple days after the article appeared, Matt Greoning commented about the article, claimed that the rumors of the show ending next year is false, and stated that there's plenty of storylines left left in the show.
