Simpsons MIRACLE!?

Even though "The Simpsons" has been running for over 13 years, most of its stars including Nancy Cartwright and Yeardly Smith are still alive. However most, if not all of the main cast members (Walt Disney, Mel Blanc, Jean van der Pyl) from other shows including "The Flintstones", "The Jestsons" and "Loony Tunes" have died. Is there a "Simpsons Miracle" at work? Please post your opinions.

I know it's a joke, but it got me curious about the Flintstones cast...

Alan Reed (Fred Flintstone) would be 96. Jean Vanderpyl (Wilma) would be 84. Mel Blanc (Nearly all of the Looney Tunes/Barney Rubble) would be 95. Bea Benaderet (Betty I) would be 97.

Of course, wehn the Flintstones went off the air in 1966, 37 years ago, all of those cast members were alive and kicking...

Isn't Jean VanderPyl still with us?

Hmm. You could be right. I thought Bea Benedaret had died, but I guess she simply left because of illness.

She left when "Petticoat Junction" became a full-time gig. Unfortunately, she died during *THAT* show's run.

Yes. For some strange reason the main cast members have been able to avoid the "Simpsons Curse", but for how long.... (see article entitled "Simpsons CURSE!?")

The Simpson's are not voiced by 60-year-old chain smokers. Could that be a factor?
