A map of Kentucky shows Springfield having a town close-by to the north called Shellbyville. Just west of Shellbyville about 4 or 5 miles is a town called Simpsonville. Also, to the west of Springfield is a town called Hogdenville (kinda like Ogdenville)

Yeah, Lisa even dropped a clue in that episode where her sponsored Brazilian pen pal "Ronaldo" didn't know where to post her a letter. He said he didn't know the state to post to and she said something along the lines of look at a map and hints dropped in previous episodes and you'll get it.

Couldn't particularly give a shit myself, I like the repeat humour when it's brought up in an episode. So there.

Yep, on a roadtrip once I drove through both, trust me, neither is the real town. Kinda disappointed...
