Ain't it time for a new title sequence?

Like everyone's not bored to death with the current one already?

The blackboards/couches are new (however many blackboards + about 10 new couches per season), and they kept making new sax solos until about season 11...they made some new animation for Bart's section in EABF05...

But actually, I had read somewhere (here, probably) that they were going to make a new one for the EABF series (as a marker of the switch to digital coloring) or season 14 as a whole (so there wouldn't be 4 odd ones out) - obviously neither of these happened, but you never know. I agree with Chris, the one we have is a great opening even after 13 seasons of it, but on the other hand if they feel like redoing it I won't complain.

I'm not bored of it...along with Futurama, it's one of the very few that don't get old...Family Guy gets very, very old...and don't get me started on stuff like Friends...Scrubs isn't bad because they have about a 5 second opening sequence...and then you have shows like Seinfeld and Frasier with absolutely none...

I don't think it needs to be changed much... but I think they should at least redo it so that the characters look like they do in the actual episode. I mean, the current open was made in season 3, reusing artwork from season 1! The look of the show has changed so much since then (in fact, it's a different animation house altogether.)

So which is better, The Simpson's or Futurama. I probably like Futurama because it is quicker and the animation is better. But nothing can beat the blackboard and the sax solo (through season 11) changing each time. Futurama does have the little blurb like "In DoubleVission when drunk" but I just count that as a copy of the blackboard.

Case in point: Drew Cary, that show went downhill fast during the third season to points of lowness no one expected.

I'm all for an updated look, but i think it should maintain the same uhh structure? the same flow, animation, whatever. I dont know :(

In S1 its the sandwich guy, S2 on is Burns.

Also, the sequence was changed a little. In season 1 Bart was skating down a different sidewalk with different people around.

That happens here too. Maybe cut parts out of the title sequence to make room for more show, depending on how long that week's show is.

The shows are pretty much always the same.. 22 minutes. (If anybody knows the exact figure, now's a good time to post it)

The Simpsons people do all sorts of tricks to fit more in. There's three title sequences, some shorter than others, and they sometimes "speed up" the action electronically.

I don't see why the beeb should cut anything out (they show no adverts!) unless they think it'll be found offensive.
