Joan Crawford taught director Steven Spielberg how to belch while filming an episode of Rob Serling's television show "Night Gallery" around 1970. Both are Academy Award winners, just like Eudora and Jay Sherman being Pulitzer Prize winners. I guess The Simpsons producers couldn't get Spielberg to guest-star so they threw in the outrageous Eudora gag instead.

Perhaps that was an in-joke.

Kick-ass story, about the rich blind woman who paid off a poor man's debt to the mob in return for his eyes so she could have a few hours of sight - only to lose the hours to a black-out (but in the end she gets to see the colors of a sunrise).

Might make a good THOH rip-off.
