Why the Grammy bashing on "The Simpsons"?

What's wrong with the Grammy? It's like the highest award you can get for music, isn't it?

The Grammy's are bashed on the Simpsons because many feel that they are not justly given out. For God's sake, Milli Vanilla won best new artist!

Not to mention the astounding number of classic performers who have won few, if any, Grammys, while Celine Dion walks away with all manner of statues.

Isn't "best new artist" often a kiss of death? Debby Boone. Sheena Easton. Boxcar Willy. Starland Vocal Band. Take a tip from Homer- those tattoos might seem like a good idea now, but eventually they'll just be painful reminders.

Also not to mention the fact that the ceremony neglects most new forms of music for the first ten years (see: hip hop) and then wildly misclassifies things into that group. I am trying to remember the classic example... was it U2 as heavy metal? Can't recall.

Then they give an award to Sting and Babyface for no reason at all, and we all go home.

Was it Jethro Tull as heavy metal, beating out Metallica?

You're upset that Bjork didnt win a grammy? But she's married to Space Ghost, and has lots of kids (space ghost coast to coast fans will get that joke).

I think the Grammy is one of the lower-echelon awards- still a high award (the highest for music), but not much of the prestige of the Emmy or Oscar.

Those award ceremonies are the biggest farce I ever saw!

Paula Abdul, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, all have several Grammy Awards. Bjork has none.

No one knows how to tell a joke when presenting on the Grammys. Even the host is embarassingly unfunny (I think it was Jon Stewart this year...)
