Will they ever make a Simpsons movie?

I did hear that they were thinking about it.... But I don't know what ever happened with that.

Belive it or not, I'm against a Simpsons movie. Mainly because I fear it will tarnish the reputation of the show. For example the Beverly Hillbilles had some great moments, but the movie screwed it over. Ocasionaly there can be a good movie made from a tv series. Mystery Science Theater: 3000 is the best example I can think of that. I also fear that the Simpsons movies may become like the Star Trek movies, overly hyped and ocasionaly good (lousy even/odd curse). That dosn't mean I won't go to see the Simpsons movie, I just don't want it to happen.

Well, they could always use the same material and just add foul language and full-frontal nudity... That's all the kids want to see now-a-days anyway, and until FOX completes its transformation into a hardcore sex network, we would only be able to see "Ribald Tales of The Simpsons" in a theater near you...

Wow. I agree 100%. They can't even think up a show where the first act actually has anything to do with the rest of the episode.

Yeah, but South Park had more of a reputation for that kind of humor. It would be very unusual for the Simpsons to go and do somthing like that. But I think you may have stumbeld onto a formula for making a movie, based on a TV comedy show work, make it as much like an episode as possible. For example ever see MST3K the Movie? Well, you could very easily put that on TV and pass it off as an episode of MST3K (except its a little shorter). Same thing for South Park.
