Review: A. Usually, I'm not much of a Ned Flanders fan (considering how he's too religious and how he has to make Homer look bad). However, tonight's episode, which makes fun of Notting Hill, was a well-done Flanders episode. The storyline makes Flanders interesting without him acting like you want to hate him. Some of the jokes were definitely LOL moments (i.e. the striptease Bible, the Cher-Crow). To top it all off, Ned does something out of character, yet he's still likeable after the act. Definitely a nice "later season episode centering on one of the other residents of Springfield".

I thought most of the jokes were not funny. However, I could tell that the writers were sincerely trying to write a good episode. This episode was _merely_unfunny, whereas many recent eps have been unfunny and lame, gross, lazy, etc. I haven't seen Notting Hill, so I didn't get the reference until now, and I don't know if the film has permeated pop culture to the point where a lot of people would get it, unlike the Run Lola Run parody, which I'm sure a lot of teens and younger adults saw.

I didn't see either "Notting Hill" or "Run Lola Run", but the idea of "Trilogy of Error" works even if, like me, you know next to nothing about "Run Lola Run" save what I've read about it here.

As for "A Star is Born Again", I didn't think it was *that* bad, until Flanders had sex at the end, which I thought was completely out of character for him.
