Just For Fun: Homer Simpson on tour with Queen!

while getting mentally ready for my vacation next week and with the recent talk about "who should be singing with Queen', I came up with the following cute idea:

HOMER: but Marge, it's been my lifelong dream to be a spelunker!

MARGE: Homer, last year your lifelong dream was to go on a world tour as the vocalist for Queen. And you did it, too!

(Dissolve To: main stage in Wembley Stadium, UK. Onstage, Homer is prancing about in a white leotard obviously two sizes too small)

HOMER (singing): I want to ride my bikelickcicle, I want to ride my bike, I want to eat my popsicle, mmmmm, popsicle....

ROGER TAYLOR: why the hell did we take on this git? Let ME handle the vocals, and let's just turn his mike down like we did to Robbie Williams!

BRIAN MAY: We CAN'T, Roger! He begged and pleaded and swore it was his lifelong dream to sing with us! (winces) Maybe I can turn up my amp and drown him out?

JOHN DEACON (looking skyward): Forgive us, Freddie, for we know not what we did!

Oh, and Matt doesn't do any writing on the Simpsons anymore, he's currently more involved with his other baby Futurama. But then he doesn't write any episodes there either - in fact, the only pure Groening humour you'll see is his comic strip "Life In Hell", which he still does because he finds it makes a great break from having to deal with lawyers and agents and network suits all day :)

Still, last season wasn't that bad - we did get "Hungry Hungry Homer" and "Lisa The Treehugger' out of this.

BTW, I'm currently running as a contestant in a Simpsons plot synopsis contest being run on by someone on alt.tv.simpsons, the idea is to show people just how hard it is to come up with good plots to span over a year - in my case, it was pretty tough coming up with just 14 episode ideas. Some of the other guys are pretty good! (actually, I might be doing my first fan script while I'm on the road, based on the THoH idea I posted. Normally I need a partner to bounce ideas off of, but this one is flowing just nicely)
