TV shows that have been turned into good movies

While Googling for information on the latest Simpsons movie rumor, I noticed the a couple of times Matt Groening and others from "The Simpsons" said that the only example they could think of where a TV show turned into a good movie was "South Park". OK, "South Park" indeed was a great movie--but the *only* good movie to come from a TV show? I think not!

First, how about "Star Trek"? Sure...there were some lousy movies in that series, but there were some good ones, too. I Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan't believe Groening would overlook this. :-)

Second, how about "Police Squad"?

One could make a case for "The Brady Bunch", too...but the greatness of that movie was in how it parodied the TV show, so it perhaps doesn't count.

i thought transformers the movie was also pretty good as well, i think shows like the simpsons, south park can be great movies even if they're animated

Everyone probably saw this already, but I just found it and thought I would add it to this threads discussion.

It is the first I have seen where it looks to be more than rumor or wishful thinking by fans, though a lot of the article does seem to read like a joke.
