Springfield Atoms?

In the episode where CBG has a heart attack and homer takes him to Moe's to make friends, above the doorway there's a flag that says "Springfield Atoms." Is that their XFL franchise?

I don't think it did, but it wouldn't surprise me since the XFL was on NBC, NHL is on cable...

Fair enough, but like I said, XFL was on a major network while NHL is on cable.
