Error in episode: March 14, 2005 ???

Why was the dead emperor drape in a soviet flag instead of the chinese flag ?? Is this an error???

That was "Chairman" Mao, Japan is the one with the Emperor. Looked like China's flag to me.

The red hammer and sickle flag seems to have been adopted by communist parities the the world over, not just the Soviets. Mao's body does have that flag on top of him. I think Deng Xiaoping also had a communist flag draped over his body as well.

Well i guess i was incorrect. I simply assumed the chinese flag with the 5 stars should have natuarlly been the correct flag, not the hammer /scilcle.

Just admit that you don't know who Chairman Mao. The Communist flag is "naturally" the correct flag for him.

You do realize it was Chairman Mao, a communist. He fought the Japanese before and during WWII, and then fought a civil war that put him in power.

I can't say I noticed the flag, but I didn't think Mao was preserved like that. I thought was a joke, a reference to Lenin who is embalmed and has been on view for decades and decades, with a special crew to make sure the body stays in reasonably good shape (and who are considered experts on the topic).

So it was showing Mao preserved like Lenin, but I don't think that is the case.
