Well, it did get 25 million viewers, and if you try to tell yourself that none of them were regular Simpsons viewers, you're being a fucking dumbass.

I have to agree. I watch Survivor and I've seen every Simpsons episode. (I started watching Survivor because of my wife, but damned if I don't enjoy it. :) I watched both but I'm not a Nielsen home so it really doesn't matter.

But feel free to lambast me for my ignorant viewing habits.

Survivor fan mindset is the same as the mindset of Simpsons fans who think the Simpsons are still good. Just goes to show how much BOTH have declined over the years. Roughly equivalent to rubbernecking at the scene of an auto accident.

--------- The Simpsons has lasted for over 14 years and it is still good, regardless of what anyone else thinks. I don't understand what all the complaining is about with regards to the show apparently "declining", because I haven't noticed it. It's as funny now as it was in 1995. As long as new and good episodes are being produced, I will watch.

Survivor, on the other hand, has been around only 4 years, and I got sick of it after only one year. I enjoyed the first one, with Rudy and Richard and all, and to a lesser degree, I liked the second. After that it was no good anymore. It was the same old thing over and over, a bunch of people stuck on an island (or peninsula ;) ) vote each other off based on emotion and politics. With the Simpsons, it's something new with each episode, and reruns are bearable to watch.
