Why is Barney not a drunk????

Ok, This is my 1st time on this forum.. and I havent watched the Simpsons in a while, and Im wondering why Barney isnt a drunk anymore? What happened in the episode that he decided to stop drinking...

The continuity has remained and he hasn't fallen off the wagon yet. Recently Homer did pressure him into having "just one" beer and Barney did and that was it. We didn't get to see what happened later that day, but assuming he was still sober, it was a BIG INSULT to alcoholics and AA. (in other words, very funny)

It was making fun of the AA myth that if you have one drink you will become a raving drunk again. If you don't (as the myth goes) then you were never a true alcoholic. It's the same reasoning religious fanatics use. If you pray and your life is good, God must be on your side. If you pray and your life sucks, well.... you were never a true believer.

Yeah, just our luck, eh? Barney gets sober and then the writer's finally decide to worry about continuity. They'll move the Simpson's house next the the SNPP parking lot for one episode, they'll ignore the fact that Skinner isn't really Skinner yet Barney gets sober for one episode and they stick with it?

Barney stopped drinking so he could take helicopeter flying lessons Moe gave him as a birthday present. He also wanted to prove he could give up drink and not be such a loser. Apparently they wanted to keep him sober as a continuity thing. Looks like he is now hooked on caffeine however as he's always drinking coffee and such.
