Apparently this episode of The Simpsons (AABF21, Season 11, original airdate 24-Oct-1999), has a reference to the quote.
I'm guessing that Homer's typewriter lost a key, prompting him to proclaim:
"We don't need no stinkin' E!"
If anybody has this episode on tape, and the capabilities to create a QuickTime or AVI clip, I would *love* to add it to the library.
