Which do you think is the worst season?

Season 12.

Season 1 - 9 were great Season 10 was ok Season 11 was bad Season 12 was _VERY_ bad Season 13 was _VERY_ bad but with a few good episodes.

Season 11. No doubt about it.

Hey! I just thought of something. Perhaps the negativity-promoters work for Mad About Shoe! Is that still the competition in the States?

I really can't pick a worst season, though.. looking at all the seasons in the episode guide, in every single one there's episodes I love and hate. I guess season 12 is a bit of a crap shoot, but there are some great episodes in there. I would have to say the season I enjoy watching the least is season 1.

Unfortunately, it also has the highest count of episodes that aren't really what you'd like to expect from "the Simpsons".

That's why it's my least favourite season.

Good points, however I happen to like Bart After Dark, Hurricane Neddy (the return of Ned's beatnik parents), The Twisted World of Marge Simpson (oh fat tony, I will say good day to you, sir), and I really liked Brother From Another Series (you'll live to regret this!). I haven't seen Simpsoncali(etc) in a while so I don't really remember my thoughts on that one, and I thought that A Milhouse Divided, although not dead-on-my-ass-funny, was an enjoyable outing exploring the character of Kirk Van Houten.

But, that's why we all have opinions. :)

but IMO there hasnt been a simpsons episode ive had to force myself to watch for the first or second time. if you rate them all independantly, and not in the context of other classic episodes, each show is probably better than much of the crap that fills our tv screens at the moment, but what ya gonna do

I'd have to say that by Simpsons standards, seasons 10 to 13 sucked the meat missile and 5 was close, but by regular TV standards, they are decent to great. What irks me about the last couple of seasons is the dumbed down writing with a few funny gags thrown in there. Sometimes I feel it isn't worth sitting through a generic "The Simpsons are going to...!" episode just to see what wacky thing Homer is going to do this week.
