Well, allready I hear lots of bad talk about this episode, and mostly by the same people who criticized Mike Sculley. Yet, the differences in Jeans episodes and Sculleys are huge. Jean's episode seem to reminisce season five or so, so far. The animation seems almost vintage compared to earlier this season and last season, and althought not laugh out loud funny have a more family orientated heart.......I know this is based off two episodes, but you allready see trends in them. My only complaint is alot of joke reusage. Almost every major joke seemed re-used in some way. The bar scene, the opening scene, and even the wolves seemed old, yet, a good nostalgia.........almost as if it actually REMINDS you of the good seasons. So, that almost becomes a positive. (A-)

Agree. I haven�t seen DABF01 yet but I also see the trends, I even saw them in the last two Scully episodes.
I (unfortunately) also agree. I already noticed it during "Little Faith" - the plot reminded me a bit of "Lisa The Vegetarian" (tolerate others) and there was a couple of other more or less recycled jokes. It seems to be some kind of trend in season 13, just look at the episode where Artie Ziff will return.
I think it�s always good to go back to the roots of the show and to use elements of continuity, but it shouldn�t led to an overuse of recycled stuff and to stagnation. I�m far away from complaining - I also like what Al Jean tries to do - but if they continue in that way many people will say "Why do you think it�s better now? They�re just repeating stuff and the Scully episodes had at least own ideas."
Well, I can�t say more about an episode I haven�t even seen yet, but there are IMO two trends - going back to a more classic style (good) and repeating jokes and continuity elements to create a classic style (not always good, shouldn�t be overused.)

I also noticed that the art was a bit better than usual last night. Futurama still craps on OFF from a great height in that department, but whaddyagonnado?
